Armpits: The darkness of skin in armpits may be genetically determined and irreversible. Itchiness can be caused by yeast or fungal infection, allergy or irritation from shaving or deodorant. Associated redness is seen in yeast infections. Apply an antiyeast, antifungal cream combined with cortisone like medication. An example is mycolog cream. Try different deodorant. See a dermatologist if no relief.
