A member asked:

I have a pain on the left side of my stomach, just below the lung. it gets worse when im in a cold room, breathe in cold air orwhen i take cold water?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Unusual pain: Causes of discomfort in that area of the body can come from the rib cage, diaphragm, base of left lung, spleen or colon where it takes a 90 degree turn at the splenic flexure. The relationship with breathing in cold air could point to some degree of diaphragm reactivity. If symptoms persist have your physician palpate the left upper quadrant of your abdomen and examine your left lung.
