Long "period": Pregnancy may occur, and of course once pregnant, the "shot" will not "protect" you. It is possible that you are pregnant, and the bleeding may indicate that it is in a different location, so get a serum HCG test to be certain you are not pregnant in an unfavorable location. If negative, see your ob/gyn provider for an exam.
