In treating chlamydia and gonorrhea is it okay to take the cefixime one day and then azythromicin the next or does it need to be taken the same time?

Best together but...: ...cefixime is no longer recommended as the first choice for gonorrhea. It should be ceftriaxone (injection) plus azithromycin. Discuss with the doctor or clinic treating you. The drugs best taken together, although probably will work fine if taken 12-24 hours apart. Definitely no longer than that. But why not just do it right? They are well tolerated together, with no increased side effects.
