Flank pain: Lots of causes of flank pain. Pain that comes and goes and radiates to the pelvic area could be a kidney stone - but many other causes from ovarian cyst to pelvic infection to ectopic pregnancy, even appendicitis are possible. Make sure you are not pregnant! Please see your doctor for evaluation. If it's a kidney stone, a urine dipstick test will show microscopic amounts of blood.
