Lactose-free dairy: Confirm a lactose (milk sugar) intolerance by a lab test (seldom done) or by watching his pattern of symptoms: perfectly normal when not eating dairy, but gassy with poop changes soon after eating dairy. In California, lactose-free cow milk, yogurt, and ice cream are sold. If one cannot find those products, just buy lactase enzyme tablets. People use 1/2 to 2 tablets before each serving of dairy.
