A member asked:

Us report for supraclavicular lymph node-there is a 1.0 x 1.1 x 0.5 cm heterogeneous well-circumscribed lesion with central hyperechogenicity consistent with lymph node. my question is what does this actually mean? i have no s/s of infection.

Enlarged LN: The ultrasoud report says you have an enlarged lymph node. Supraclavicular LNs enlarge for a variety of reasons, often some source of infection or inflammation in the chest or arm. Sometimes the initial source can be a tiny wound or entry point in the skin that heals over, but the inflammation takes root in the LN.

Adenitis: You r gland enlargement may be due to an infection source or inflammatory source unknown to you. I would let the doctor who ordered the scan to determine the test required
