A member asked:

Can skin boils make you sick?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Possibly: One boil generally only causes localized pain and tenderness, but multiple ones may cause symptoms of fever and malaise. In the latter case a course of antibiotics are prescribed. With one boil, warm compresses and,at times, incision and drainage are performed. The examining physician can advise you best, however.
