Root Canal tooth: The tooth is weakened by loss of blood supply & loss of tooth structure as a result of filling & access to do Root Canal Therapy. That is why it requires a crown & usually internal support such as a post. If the tooth has adequate tooth structure & a well fitting crown, additional support from other teeth is not necessary. If that's not the case, splinting to other tooth is option-or ext & implant
