A member asked:

My throat feels thick, its not painful when i swallow, just uncomfortable. i have used antibiotics twice but its not working.

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Doctor can recheck: Throat symptoms can be from a strep throat infection (antibiotics are needed); a cold, influenza, or "mono" (antibiotics not used); or some other cause such as allergies or irritants, or even stomach reflux during the night. Usually, a person sees the doctor if the throat symptoms are bothersome, recurrent, or don't go away quickly. For certain types of unusual symptoms, sometimes a scan is done.
