The past week, i've been experiencing painful burning on the surface of my skin on my lower legs. before it started, i used to experience numbness in those areas & sometimes tingling. what is causing the painful burning?

It sounds: suspiciously like a "neuropathy" (nerve malfunction which has MANY possible causes. I suggest strongly that you not ignore this but see your Primary Care Provider will perform some initial studies and may refer you to a NEUROLOGIST for further diagnosis etc Hope this is helpful! Dr Z
