Water reaction: It appears that upon contact with water your skin reacts with an allergic type response. If the skin eruptions last only hours they may be related to hives. This aquagenic skin reaction may be prevented or mitigated by taking an antihistamine like benadryl(causes drowsiness) or claritin(nondrowsy) or a prescription medication like atarax. An allergist is best qualified to advise you.

Water reaction: You might be sensitive to temperature. Have you tried different temperatures to see if there is a difference?
