Yes & no: I think the chances of it really being ringworm if you have had it for years is small. There are several skin disorders that can have a similar appearance. However, you can get ringworm from the soil, persons or animals, so the possibility remains.

Ringworm. I have had ringworm for almost 5 years now. I went to the doctor already and i got a cream and pills but won't go away.
I have had recurring resistant ringworm for the last 3 years. My doc treats it with 10 days oral terbinafine which works but then it comes back after 2 months. I don't have any immune problems. Now it's back & widespread. Why is this happening?
