A member asked:

Let me know the difference between injuring your acl/mcl or being injured with both of them on top how do you tell.?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Ligaments: The acl and mcl are ligaments that connect the femur bone to the tibia bone. The mcl will usually heal by itself. If there are symptoms of knee instability or giving out, then many the time s the acl will require surgery to reconstruct the ligament (depending on the patient's age and activity level).
