Functional: Ibs is not a disease, but a disorder whereby the large intestine functions with excessive evacuation. Probably due to pelvic parasympathetic nerve hyperactivity. My clinical observations implicate irritation of these nerves by a loose sacroiliac joint, often seen in males due to pelvic injury while participating in extreme sports. See my chronic pain board at quora.Com (free) where i discuss.
