Petechiae: These little red dots sound like 'petechiae' which are microscopic hemorrhages into the skin and could indicate a low platelet count. Sometimes this happens after antibiotics. Or, it could happen after a viral infection- such as what you describe. I would GO BACK to the pediatrician for some answers. I don't take any risks with babies, they aren't as 'robust' as us adults. You don't want regrets.

Live consult: If you select 'live consult' you can speak directly to a New Zealand Dr via audio/text or video. It is very difficult to assess or reassure you with so little information. If your child appears well in themselves (still alert, interested in toys at times, eating & drinking) + is immunised then it is highly unlikely that this is serious. A review in person with your GP will be most helpful.
