Monitor it: This is usually due to a slight tear in the attachment at the base of the tongue that will self heal. The saliva has anti-infective properties so they seldom get infected. Soft feeds as tolerated and an occasional look see are really all that is needed in most. It usually heals within a few days.

May be: Or not. Depends on the cause of the bleeding. If it is from a superficial cut from the teeth to the tongue then just watch for infection
