The blood: pregnancy test is the gold standard. So I would go with that result. Early home pregnancy tests can sometimes detect pregnancy prior to missed period. Many regular home pregnancy tests may not show a positive prior to the missed period - as a certain level of HCG is needed to trigger a positive.
