A member asked:

I get pretty bad muscle pain in my shoulders, neck and back whenever i drink alcohol. it happens shortly after i drink, like within an hour. why?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Going out on a limb: I live in a tree, so this is what I do. The serious answer is some people get breakdown of muscle tissue with alcohol (rhabdomyolysis). Less serious answer is that drinking allows your brain to go to places where it doesn't normally go and you become uncomfortable and tighten the shoulder girdle muscles. This is a common place for people to place their stress.
