I had an ovarian cyst rupture on the 6th of this month. the er dr said the healing process would take up to a week. its now been two weeks and sex is extremely painful for me. it wasnt painful like this before the cyst ruptured. what could be wrong?

Could be scarring: knowing what type of cyst is very critical to predict future symptoms. what they told you is only true if it was clear cyst. but if it contained blood it could cause scarring and take long time to heal like 3-4 months. if it is endometriosis this could spread disease and will need surgery to resolve it follow up ultrasounds is important and possible diagnostic laparoscopy is recommended if no rest
