A member asked:

I have a white coating on my tongue that gets very thick after food or coffee. what could be causing this?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

White coating: Most likely the food and or coffee causes a prominence of the normal papillae of the tongue along with bacteria and other debris. Simply wash out your tongue with quantities of water and gently brush the tongue with a soft toothbrush.
