Exercise: Exertion induces increased blood flow to the area involved and this in turn leads to increase in the volume of blood returning to the heart/lung through your veins thus accounting for the swelling. I have no idea why your legs get red but the posture you assume during exertion may be a cause for your headache. Try to keep you neck position as erect as possible and see if this helps.
