CAT scan: I know that a good nasal examination that demonstrates pus in the lateral wall of the nose strongly suggests sinusitis. The yellow material should be cultured before an antibiotic is prescribed. You will know if you have sinusitis if you have yellow-green nasal discharge and pressure in the face and between the eyes. Chronic sinusitis (greater than 90 days) is best diagnosed with a CAT scan.
