Common scenario : There can be blood in the urine off and for several days to weeks after kidney procedures. Pain is sometimes caused by the stent itself irritating the kidney, migration of the stent out of the kidney and into the ureter tube below the kidney, or by spasm of the ureter tube in response to the trauma of surgery. If persistent or severe, an X-ray of the abdomen can determine if the stem has migrated.
