It is thought: that chronic, asymptomatic carriage of non-typhoidal Salmonella is not common...<1% in healthy adults. But the reservoir has long been accepted to be gall bladder colonization and shedding in the feces as opposed to body fluids. Saliva would not be expected to contain infectious bacteria. Transmission from contaminated feces seems to be the usual source of this rare event. Good wishes:)
