Does breastfeeding protect the mother from certain viruses/illnesses that the baby gets? like s stomach bug. everyone in the family got extremely sick, but i didn't, yet i was the most exposed to it because i took care of baby.

I am not aware: that a mother would be protected from infections because she is breast feeding. Of course, there can be protective value for a baby to be fed breast milk.
