There are: always alternatives since strep is usually sensitive to many antibiotics (plus the fact that even a strep throat WILL GET BETTER without antibiotics at all ! Hope this is helpful Dr Z

Hard to say: You didn't list the antibiotics or what makes you think it was an allergic reaction. Many adults who have had spots or other reactions after an antibiotic but allergy testing proves they are not allergic. You should find out. Many meds can treat strep. Although you can feel better after strep without antibiotics, you remain at risk for rheumatic fever & passing it to others.
