Eye tic: Involuntary eye twitching is called a tic. While distressing, it is seldom serious. It is often related to stress, so adequate rest and stress reduction techniques like meditation should help. Also often related to magnesium deficiency. Take 400 mg of magnesium (ideally as magnesium taurate or glycinate) and a good B complex. If not improved in a week or so see a doctor to evaluate.

Tick or parathyroid: Eyelid Twitch (myokymia) has 2 main systemic reasons: 1. Stress, thus a nervous tick. Probably over 80% of cause. If you have been under severe recent stress it is a “nervous tick.” 2. Vitamin D, Calcium, & electrolyte imbalances, which are controlled by Parathyroid. If you have leg cramps; then the second reason must be worked up, Serum Vitamin D, PTH, CA & electrolytes. Rarely local cause.
