A member asked:

What could be causing my anemia. my scopes are normal and peroids are very light.

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Many causes: There are over 100 different causes of anemia. If it's thal minor, you have lifelong anemia with low MCV and relatively high RBC count. Iron deficiency is confirmed by iron studies and if your periods are normal, you need a screen for blood loss due to ulcers / cancer. It'd be a shame to miss treatable disease. Otherwise, a reticulocyte count & other labs will give the answer.
