Painful spots: Painful white spots inside the cheek often are apthous ulcers or canker sores which may be caused by sensitivity to foods, toothpaste, certain drinks, but often the cause is unknown. These sore spots usually resolve within 7-10 days. Your physician or an Otolaryngologist can confirm the diagnosis for you. Try bathing the sore area with warm water, glyoxide. or maalox and take a multivitamin.
