I have had the corners of my lips cracking and bleeding since 2014. it hurts and its embarrassing. i do wear a retainer but i take it out that night. i have tryed a lot of ointments and chapsticks. i dont lick my lips cuz it hurts. help?

Contact dermatitis?: Need to rule out irritant, mechanical or allergic contact reaction. This could involve the ointments or the retainer. Just a starting point...

Cracked lip corners: May be Angular Chelitis, which can indicate vitamin B defficiency. Can be from excessive salivation. May be allergic response to the materials in your retainer. Please see BOTH an Orthodontist and an Allergist to begin the diagnostic process.
