No problem: Basal cell Ca's unusual on lip inner mucosa. Probably arose on the outer skin surface, where for the most part remains localized. Only seen to show recurrence if when excision performed, not completely removed. Metastatic disease is almost unknown. No problem in delay of dx. I frequently treat area with Efudex (fluorouracil) cream , a form of 5FU which can cure such lesions.
