Leuconychia: When someone teases you, please laugh and invite that person to please go take a flying stool. White spots on nails are usually only a result of injury to the cuticle such as from nail picking or biting. Often the cause is not apparent. Rarely it might be zinc deficiency or lead poisoning or a dozen other rare causes.
