Hi can i drink wine or smoke weed when using azithromycin & ceftriaxone ? i had a shot of ceftriaxone & took two of azithromycin orally.

Alcohol: could interfere with some oral antibiotics but AZITHROMYCIN is generally absorbed completely and is long acting thus wine would probably NOT effect it! Weed has no effect on antibiotic effectiveness AS FAR AS IS NOW KNOWN but CONSIDER how LONG it took to find out about the HEALTH EFFECTS of TOBACCO! Hope this is helpful Dr Z
