Contact doctor: I believe the cardiac surgeon (hopefully not the dentist) is the best person for you to ask about prophylactic abx.

Consultation: I assume the dentist has been in consultation with the Cardiologist to discuss this issue. Please speak to both regarding your questions and concerns. The Anesthesiologist should also be aware of history and concerns.

Consultation: This is a question best asked of your son's cardiologist and dentist. The anesthesiologist should also be aware of your son's medical history well before the procedure is to be accomplished. Most probably 2 days before, but you must be absolutely sure of all pre-surgical instructions. Call your son's practitioners and ask for all instructions in writing.
