I'm interested to know if there is really a correlation between eczema and milk allergy in infants whether it can develop at 5 months old.

Yes: Eczema can develop at any time after about age 2 months and can be triggered by milk allergy. Dry skin is the major issue and thus using a moisturizer after bathing and again in 12 hrs is a must.

Yes: A cited 1/3 of eczema patients have been found to have some food allergies & they can show up in infancy. Blood testing for a variety of foods can often provide some guidance in foods to avoid & is easier on a kid that age than skin tests.

Mgt: There is an association between food allergies and eczema. Not all infants with eczema have allergies.
