Anxiety: If you have no breathing problems while exercising or during exertion, your symptom is strongly suggestive of an anxiety state. Breathing is involuntary and one shouldn't have to focus on it. If,on the other hand, you do get abnormally short of breath with physical activity, then other tests like cardiac tests, breathing tests, checking for anemia,etc are indicated. Relaxation will help you.
