Time for visit: The mouth/throat is the main entry point in people for germs that cause illness. The throat findings you cite are not specific to a particular illness, but could be a simple strep throat , flu, mono or something else. There could also be any number of other things causing the fever. By 3 days in to a sustained fever it is likely to be something that requires prescribed medication.Time for a visit
