i have a rash on the left side of my back and chest in a line. it bubbled and it hurts to breathe. some say herpes others say shingles. what is it?

Shingles: One-sided, severe, burning/stinging/aching pain with an associated rash is shingles until proven otherwise. See your Family Doc to start meds: Valtrex, pain medication, and sometimes steroids. Hopefully, the process can be managed and aborted. The worst-case scenario could involve months of pain that need to be managed with next-level medications.
