Too young: A 4 month old is too young for foods or drinks that are not breast milk or baby formula created for babies. The combination of nutrients in cow milk or other kinds of food is not balanced correctly for young babies. In the US, babies don't start drinking or eating other foods (other than formula or breast milk) until reaching age 6 months. There are exceptions, and one's doctor can discuss those.
