I fell and hit my spinous process and surrounding muscles on the corner of a cupboard handle. initial pain 6/10. no obvious bruising yet however it feels bruised. how long will my pain last? what could i have done?

Contision: The pain may last for 4-6 weeks. Treat it symptomatically with cold then warm packs. A medication such as Advil used briefly over 5 days may help. There are also topical anti inflammatories. If you are unable to walk or loose control of your bowel or bladder be seen. Most physicians do not like to image that area due to radiation to your pelvis. All the best.
