Take care: Talk to your doctor about it and ask if a low protein diet would be good for you? Also make sure your blood pressure is excellent and ask your doctor if all your meds are "renal friendly" as some meds are better for kidneys than others. Look up the dash diet online - that will be a step in the right direction. Order a free copy at: http://www.Nhlbi.Nih.Gov/health/public/heart/hbp/dash/index.Htm.

Kidney function: You should see a nephrologist (n) to find out why you have kidney disease (kd). Once the cause if found, a treatment plan can be formulated. If you have diabetes, control of bp, protein in your urine, glucose are crucial in keeping your kidney function from declining. If you have hypertension, control it. See a n to have the best chance of keeping your kidney function stable. Good luck.
