A member asked:

Symptoms: lower abdomen cramping every 5 mins or so. pain radiates to back. change of sitting position at times lowers intensity. (29 weeks pregnant)?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

May be preterm labor: Those cramps could be contractions and so could be preterm labor. One should be checked out by her Ob-Gyn doctor. That may mean going to the hospital and staying in the Labor and Delivery ward to be monitored to see what is going on. Meanwhile, avoid physical activities, having sex, and bumpy rides to the hospital. A baby born at 29 weeks is too early, so hopefully that uterus calms down.
