A member asked:

I have had mid left abdominal pain for weeks. it comes and goes in a stabbing, burning pain. what is located in this area that could be causing the pain?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Left abdominal pain: The symptoms may be consistent with acid reflux, pancreatitis, small bowel motility problems or peptic ulcer disease. Depending on the patients age bowel ischemia may also need to be considered. Would need to know about the patient to fully determine the likely causes.
