Dark spot on palate: The dark spot could be a bruise. Did you child fall with something in her/his mouth. If in doubt check with your pediatric dentist or pediatrician.

Big dark spot: I can think of dozens of causes for "big dark spot." How big is big? What color is it? is it even the least bit uncomfortable? Is your child being seen regularly for routine dental care? Please see your child's General Dentist or Pediatric Dentist for examination, differential diagnosis, and appropriate treatment plan.
