4 pneumonias: was it over his life span?Or in one year time? was the diagnosis of pneumonia confirmed clinically and radiologically? i.e. an x-ray diagnosis of pneumonia, or was it severe chest cold misdiagnosed as pneumonia? at any rate, if your son developed normally and made it through age five with all the vaccines given, he should be fine, you're allowed anyways to have 2 pneumonias/year,best wishes

Immunodeficiency: Studies show that when children have recurrent serious infections such as pneumonia, immunodeficiency such as CVID needs to be ruled out, as does HIV. While it is normal for children to get colds, ear infections, etc. recurrent pneumonia is concerning in my practice, child referred to an Immunologist and Pulmonologist. Was your child full term? Ever in ICU? If premature/ICU MRSA can be an issue.
