A brief: loss of consciousness in itself is not an indication for a CT scan. Persisting/ severe headache, visual changes, any neurological deficit, abnormal pupils, or repetitive vomiting would be signs/ symptoms that you should be evaluated in the ER. If you hit your head and neck, but are now feeling nearly fine, your risk of serious intracranial injury are very low.
