A member asked:

Hi i found out that having blood on your stool or anus can cause cancer. that happens to me sometimes not all the time. is it normal?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Other way around: Blood in stool may be an indication of colon cancer. Blood in stool does not cause cancer, it is one of the signs of cancer. Blood in stool is not normal and you should consult your doctor. It may be as simple as pile, but even those can cause anemia. For good health - Have a diet rich in fresh vegetables, fruits, whole grains, milk and milk products, nuts, beans, legumes, lentils and small amounts of lean meats. Avoid saturated fats. Drink enough water daily, so that your urine is mostly colorless. Exercise at least 150 minutes/week and increase the intensity of exercise gradually. Do not use tobacco, alcohol, weed or street drugs in any form. Practice safe sex, if you have sex.
