More information.: Treatment depends on several things, including but not limited to, location of fracture, health, age, vascular condition and weight. Typically, a cast boot works fine as long as there is minimal ambulation and respect for the fracture site. Cortisone seems a little excessive, but there could be a reason. To remove all doubt, a second opinion is advisable.
