Need regular visits: Heart disease is a lifelong, chronic issue that doesn't go away. You can consider all interventions in heart disease and peripheral arterial disease to have a time limit before the blockages inevitably come back. Your mom must have regular follow up visits with her cardiologist or, if the peripheral arteries were angioplastied, then her vascular surgeon.
